About JR Imaging
JR Imaging is operated by professional photographer and company president Josh Reynolds, who is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, and a certified National Transportation Safety Board accident site photographer. Based in the greater Baltimore-Washington DC metro area, Josh works closely with attorneys, experts, forensic engineers, and litigation support companies nationally and internationally to accurately capture images that best represent their subject. At times, these images are the only record of important evidence and are relied upon by investigators and other experts involved in the case. The resulting images are often used as evidence in litigation in conjunction with experts’ testimonies, so it is essential that they faithfully reflect the case at hand. Josh’s technical training, along with 14 years of field experience, gives him a unique perspective on how to capture critical evidence needed to understand or prove a case.
Over the years, Josh’s subjects have ranged from small tabletop inspections to large scale industrial plant tours, reflecting the wide array of cases and environments that JRI has been called upon to document. These situations are often time sensitive. With recent improvements in digital workflow and transmission, JRI is able to provide quick turnaround by sending digital files, including video, through the Internet, as well as delivering material on portable media or as printed work. All images are taken in RAW format, which is essentially a digital negative created directly from the camera’s imaging sensor. They cannot be permanently manipulated in an editing software program, therefore, the fidelity of the image is retained. This is especially important in legal cases where the authenticity of an image may come into question. For additional accuracy, GPS coordinates can also be added when taking an image.
Whether capturing a single event or subject, or documenting how an investigation progresses over time, JRI allows its clients to focus on the situation at hand without worry as to if and how well a case will be documented. JRI ensures that the correct information is accurately recorded the first time—which is usually the only opportunity you will ever have.
